Over the years I have seen to some success, JB Weld and nuts and bolts used to fix the "ceramic slop" of worn elements. But hands down the new ones will out perform and give good performance over one with a band-aid. -----Original Message----- From: David & Sylvia [mailto:st_diazde@tarleton.edu] Sent: Monday, October 01, 2001 6:25 PM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: [T3] Choke element rebuild ? Does anybody out there know if the electric chokes for 32 pict's solex's can be rebuilt or am I better of buying new ones. I was looking at mine and it looks like I could drill the small rivet off and replace it with a new one after I reposition the heat element under it. Has anyone attempted this successfully? Any light on this subject would will be greatly appreciated.... Thanks David&Sylvia 67 Fastback ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
