No, the noise is independent of the clutch and is readily audible with the 
car standing still.  I do NOT believe it is related to the transmission.  It 
sounds like it is from the engine somewhere.  I have pushed and pulled on the 
fan housing and tin and generator and nothing seems to effect it.  I 
generator belt is not tight at all.  It spins the generator fine, but I can 
not turn the engine over by using the generator pulley nut unless I apply 
pressure to the belt to tighten it up.
