Did the front end start to lift off the ground as it does on the beetle at anything over 90MPH? It sounds like the way you drive your car is the ultimate test for the cars handling abilities ;) My beetle with an 1835cc engine probably tops out at 90MPH (I have never had it over 80) so your engine must be a very stong one!
