I went to a hot rod show this past weekend and there was one dealer stand that had AC units for all types of cars .....even air cooled. Any suggestions, complaints, or ideas concerning air conditioning systems.....>>>???? thanks. Greg I have an A/C in a 1964 Type 34, which is the T-3 equivalent of a Karmann Ghia. The biggest problem that I had was with a single-belt system. The single-belt system lasted about 50 miles per belt, and this caused a natural problem of cooling. I replaced the single-belt system with a two-belt system. That eliminated the problem. The two-belt system requires an extension to the crankshaft about 4-inches long. The condenser is mounted underneath the front of the car. Be careful that no one uses a floor jack on the condenser area of the car. That once cost me $750.
