The pistons are matched for weight and the rods are matched end-for-end for weight. Even the factory parts are balanced somewhat. Cranks, flywheels, and pressure plates when new, had their heavy sides marked and when assembled at the factory they were careful to put them together with the marks spread around and not all on the same side.
