This reminds me when I first bought my car during the test drive and for three months. My car's top speed was 55 hours an hour. Pedal pressure was only halfway. More pressure had no affect. I had no aircooled experineced just 8 liter engines and 400 dollars in gasoline bills every month for years when gas was at 1.10 dollars a gallon. Wanted a cheaper car. I thought this was normal for an aircooled, boy was I wrong. After two months I drove the car with only three cylinders and top speed went down to 45 miles an hour, then I decided to troubleshoot the engine, I found lots of horrible problems. Valve seat on # 3 sunk in about a half inch. Compression terrible on all cyliders. After hundreds of internet pages downloaded and several EFI books, and you guys I determined all of the injectors very shot . MY problem was compression and shot injectors. After much pain, everything corrected, top speed tested 100 miles an hour, tested 4:30 in the morning in one of my faster runs on the highway. By the way I think my suspension had that bumping noise at that time but did not affect the drivability. I must fix my bearing problem before driving fast. With knowledge comes worry , and I am worried about my suspension. My problems were many , and this was just two years ago.
