[T3] top end problem

I had a problem this morning, and wondered if anyone else has had it.
I over slept this morning, and was running late for work. When I got out on
the highway, I was going to open it up and drive like "Leon" to make up
time. I have a 5 mile straightaway with not much traffic. When I got up to
about 65-70 mph, it acted just like I had come up against a govenor. It
didn't miss, or anything, just wouldn't go anymore. I still had about 1/3 of
the throttle pedal left.
I am think it may be a fuel starvation problem.
Last saturday, I adjusted the valves, changed the oil, checked the points
and timing, and service the air cleaner.
I am at about 1/4 tank of gas, and didn't refill it on the way home, in case
I have to pull the tank. (AGAIN) I have not done the POR treatment to the
tank yet, Just putting up with the slight gas smell.
Any Idea's???????
