Well I got my e-code headlights installed in my car. Initially I used the halogen H-4 lights for a few days. I drive allot in the dark so my test is pretty good. The first thing before testing these on the highway, city and dark dirt roads, I had to perform the headlight adjustment procedures that people posted on various internet sites. After this, several days to test was available. The difference in the beam pattern to me was enormous, wow what a difference e-code makes. Placing my car side by side from various relative's cars, friends and unknowns in parking lots and stop signs, I found that every non e-code cars beam, a non pattern, just two blurred deformed blotches with random short dim streaks spreading about without helping. Some of the really new cars had better beam pattern with the use of much more powerful bulbs but those two blotches remained. My lights, on the other hand, had a very ordered and focused beam pattern that spread across the front and away from the front and some to the side, kind of like a large uniform cone pattern emitting from the car and ending abruptly far away from the car. The end of the beam lies much farther away than the DOT code lights that are legal in the USA. Each lamp sends the same shape light that overlap each other , so by looking from the top you would not know which lamp creates the beamed image, they are nicely blended. I drove down the roads comparing beam patterns and the amount of useful lights, my car was superior than any car or big rig. The other lights seamed so lame that I could not believe that they could see the road. I wonder now , how on earth I was able to drive by squinting and making out familiar objects instead of actually seeing them. Well, after being surprisingly impressed, new IPF "Magic Bulbs" arrived in the mail. I put them on immediately that night and found much more light with the same standard wattage use. I found these to be much more efficient than any bulb I read about. Most bulbs increase wattage of the bulbs in order to put out more light, this diminishes it's life. These bulbs are high pressure gas blend that helps it out. Apart from the much greater increased lumens of light, the light was not blue, like those gimmicky bulbs but bright white. I now tested these bulbs the past few days and white light is no gimmick . Comparing, once again between other cars , the light emitted was also more usable. If I drove side by side any vehicle, my lights looked too precise and useable to even compare with any car. The color of light the other headlights put out looked yellow now to me with a lame non patterned beam. The off yellow light that standard headlights putout does not give contrast to objects very well. I tested this fact by driving another car with standard off 'yellow' DOT lights and found that as one drives, one has to spontaneously figure out the objects on the road because one cannot actually see it in full contrast that white light gives colors. Use real yellow bulbs for the fog. They put out more useable light and good contrast if they are the well designed for this use. Keep blue bulbs for cruising the Blvds. I am familiar with different colored light. My father had different high powered security lamps in our yard (or junkyard), First light was high wattage really yellow light, working on cars at night was very difficult, lots of light but could barely make out where stuff began and ended. Second lights where those high pressure sodium light. These spread light really far away with less wattage use, you could see more stuff lighted up but when you wanted to work on the car, this light seemed useless. Next came Mercury lamps, these lights did not give as much light as the sodium because its bluish light tends to refract and be 'absorbed', the white light left over made working on cars at night a pleasure. I do not know how I drove without these white lights. I no longer strain to see anything on the road. My bulbs are supposed to put out light of an equivalent bulb of 110/150 while using the documented 55/60 watts. I do not know if the amount light equivalent is true because I do not have experience in different watt bulbs. Offroaders reviews on these bulbs were exaggerated. They said that the lights were so powerful like stadium lights and that the luminescent ring that glowed in the dark helped with the output. The glow in the dark ring is just a gimmick. Regardless of my last comments, these bulbs are awesome in my opinion. Don't ask me how much these bulbs cost, you would pass out on knowing it. If my bulbs burned out in the future, I would buy Sylvania or GE super white bulbs from the local stores so my wallet would not fell the immense pain. Moral to my findings : All people must get the e-code lights! Sorry for being the most long winded guy on the list.
