Re: [T3] Complete Electrical Shutdown

Sounds like whatever the source of the problem, your battery isn't
delivering power to your car at the moment (o.k., so that's not rocket
science).

This would seem to suggest that...

	1) the battery is dead, and can't hold a charge; or,
	2) the charging system isn't charging the battery

O.k., so this doesn't explain why it wouldn't suddenly die.

I had really freaky problems on my bus, which turned out to be due
to an almost totally corroded battery cable. The battery couldn't get
charged effectively, and the battery couldn't deliver enough power to
start the car even if it were charged.

Also, I discovered that my Square's battery was sold between '91
and '95... the year wasn't indicated on the sticker, as none of the little
circles were popped off, but that's the range... so it had to be 6 to 10
years old! No wonder it wouldn't hold a charge very well. (Hee, stole
the battery out of my Beetle... gotta remember to go pick up a
replacement!)
