It tends to dry up and letting moist in, causing (and hiding!) rust in the seams. On my «73 some of it fell off by itself and the parts that didn't is very dry and cracked. I will have to remove all remains of sealer and deal with the hidden rust under it before I can preceed with new undercoating.
