Hello all Keith is correct in using old clothes and gloves. I used it on the pan of my 66 fasty. It looks way clean when done. It comes with detailed instructions. use a wire brush on a drill or something like that and remove as much crusty rust as you can. then you must clean it with their cleaning solution, marine clean, to remove any oils. Then it is sprayed with another chemical to neutralize the rust then you must paint on the por-15 silver then the black. do not forget any of the steps or it wont work like they say, take your time and do all the steps for a nice looking pan. This will only stop rust and prevent more rust, it will not fix the flintstones mobile style floorboard. good luck Dave 66 fasty 69 vert b*g Return-Path: <type3-request@vwtype3.org> Received: from rly-xa04.mx.aol.com (rly-xa04.mail.aol.com [172.20.105.73]) by air-xa02.mail.aol.com (v77_r1.36) with ESMTP; Mon, 26 Mar 2001 19:24:47 -0500 Received: from client4.hv-ywh.com (client4.hv-ywh.com [209.239.34.96]) by rly-xa04.mx.aol.com (v77_r1.36) with ESMTP; Mon, 26 Mar 2001 19:24:40 -0500 Received: (from gregm@localhost) by client4.hv-ywh.com (8.10.2/8.10.2) id f2R0OeJ13939; Mon, 26 Mar 2001 19:24:40 -0500 Resent-Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2001 19:24:40 -0500 X-Authentication-Warning: client4.hv-ywh.com: gregm set sender to type3-request@vwtype3.org using -f Message-ID: <006701c0b654$889be4c0$da0a590c@keithpark> From: "Keith Park" <TopNotchResto@worldnet.att.net> To: "'Type 3 list'" <type3@vwtype3.org> References: <DE6F670702F8D3119F2D00508B6F47A80661A8EF@cougar.gartner.com> Subject: Re: [T3] POR 15 for type threes Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2001 19:26:11 -0500 Organization: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.00.2014.211 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.00.2014.211 Resent-Message-ID: <"fAVLnC.A.SXD.d29v6"@client4.hv-ywh.com> Resent-From: type3@vwtype3.org X-Mailing-List: <type3@vwtype3.org> archive/latest/13025 X-Loop: type3@vwtype3.org Precedence: list Resent-Sender: type3-request@vwtype3.org Im gonna try this on my pans too... and my question is: since I have a variety of conditions like plain rust. crusty rust, good original paint, and the remnants of the duro extend I used 13 years ago how does POR 15 adhere to good original paint sections? does the result look good? does it soak in to layered crusty rust that might be in an area you cant chisel or wirebrush first?? whats the longest anyone has proven it out? how saltproof is it?
