If you have the right socket and an extension, you don't need to 
remove the horn ring either. The socket will fit thru the hole in its 
center.

If you remove the horn ring you also need to watch for the external 
star lockwashers under the shoulder screws; if you lose one of them 
the horn will want to blow spontaneously.

And, yes, mark the wheel so you can put it back in exactly the same 
position where you found it.
