I haven't done this but have considered it at some length. I would first find a good pan half (or at least the section that you need) and it will have the jack point on it. (This step might be as tricky as the work itself!) The only way I can figure to proceed short of removing the body from the pan is to cut out the bad area of the pan. Once it's out you can try to figure out what to do about the sill, heating pipes etc above it. There is the body/chassis seal that will get in the way and many layers of metal that will probably need to be fixed one at a time from the inside outwards. Until it's all in front of you you won't be able to plan your attack very well. Even if you get to this point and decide what's there is hopeless you can still POR-15 what's left, use a little roofing tar and continue with the bad section on the pan. At least you will have done some good... Good Luck! Andre ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much? Digest! mailto:type3-d-request@vwtype3.org Subj=subscribe
