I am in love with the experience of the gasoline engine. I do not like its byproducts, and feel guilt about it, but electrics have seemed to foreign to me. I have really been paying close attention to these hybrids! Well, i guess i can now get used to the experience of traveling in silence. Since my fiance Blanche covered the rear deck in our 69 fasty with a bit of rubber floormat(sold by the foot, great look!!), traveling at highway speeds is almost completely silent now. Around 65 or so the engine/exhuast hit its sweet spot and are whisper quiet. All that can be heard is a very faint wind noise from the trim. It is just a surreal experience. I dont understand why it seems so different from driving our focus "squareback" as it is completely silent at speed too. i think i get more tire noise from the ford. it is so cool. rob http://communities.msn.com/SV650 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steven Ayres" <comwest@well.com> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2001 5:40 PM Subject: Re: [T3] Re: Electric conversion > Frank=> My long term plans are to electrify the thing > > Cool!
