My father has run his 57 T Bird all its life on unleaded... no problems in 128K. I did a valve job on my last heads on the Square, one had 55K on it and the other 70K. they were cheap NON-VW aftermarket and aside from 2 exaust valves starting to burn the keeper grooves had failed on #1E and the seat had sunk in #3E.... CHEAP CRAP! Berg is right about the cheap heads out there... and OH... they were both cracked but that might have been the cheap tank of gas I got hung with once.. I drive highway alot... so that contributed but Im anal on adjusting them. I now believe that getting quality heads is the key to not having any problems... not the leaded gas.
