Do they make a type 3 version? These seem like a good idea, but
the dipstick is not inside the case on a type 3 engine, so it may
run a little cooler out there anyway.

They make a "stubby" version that needs min. 1" clearance behind it. And
can be taped into the sump in an out of the way area, at a level where it
will still be immersed in the oil. One possible location would be opposite
the thermostat under the pushrod tubes, (or in a deep sump like I plan).
Might be better out of the air stream, but I'm not sure, I'll have to read
up on this one. I have one I plan to use in a future T3 engine build up.
Cost is $16.95 +S/H USD. I don't have the catalog # but I can get it when I
get home if anyone is interested.
