my stock 32 pdsits are wonderful. i can sit on the autobahn at 100mph head temp 370f at about 32mpg . my engine is 1649cc engle 110 ported heads with stock valves single queit pack i tune my carbs with a sync twice a year however it could be left to once just before the winter. it starts on the button every time and has never messed me about hot 35c or cold -20c. i allways drive easy on the gass till its warm and change oil twice a year 10/30 winter straight 30 summer. my vdo sender with a 17 psi cut in has winked at me once or twice . i see this as meaning my engine is nice and lose and the risk of it seizing is low. of the many t3 i have owned i have only had carb engined cars and have loved them . all my water pumpers have however been cis so i know fuel injection as well as carbs . i think the bottom line here is stick with what you get as they were all goood systems or vw would never have used them. there is problems with both camps take the time to learn your system and how it opperates . get the relevent manuals . these cars do take time and passion to keep running but the looks youll get whilst driving will make all your efforts wort while . you are in the best place for anything at all t3 related and the wealth of information that is built up in these archicves over these years can not be summerised here take a look at them study it all the penny will drop and after you first taste of sucsess on a problem you will want to fix more and more and then when you have fixed them all you will be able to experiment. neil verdon 66 sqr on irs pan /soon to get t4 powered. best among equals rise to the top. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
