Hey all. John J. is right. a '66 only has one switch on the dash,it pulls out only once to turn on,& the speed is controlled by turning the knob(CCW slower-CW-faster) Well Jim... I've changed my pan from a '66 to a '68,changed the orig MC to a dual MC, replaced it once again, replaced the MC pushrod (ring in pushrod clevis worn) replaced pedal cluster bushings, changed the reservoir from single outlet to dual....Followed procedure below each time:(Quote from Haynes manual Chapter 9 Section 8-7) "It is important that the pushrod which operates the plunger from the brake pedal is correctly set. In the rest position, the ball end of the pushrod should have a 1 mm clearance before it contacts the bottom of the recess in the piston. If this clearance is absent(and the piston cannot return fully) the operation of the system is seriously affected. To adjust the length of the rod slacken the locknut and screw the rod in or out as required. This adjustment will also be affected if the pedal cluster mounting plate is moved". "With tandem master cylinders it is important that the pedal stop is set so that if one brake circuit fails the pedal can move far enough to operate the other circuit before it comes up against the panel". This does seem to indicate that the final adjustment is indeed made with the pushrod. Chuck Salter '66 SB Vista CA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
