if you look at the ratios on the porsche 5speeds the final drive and the top gear are about the same as a VW. i think the 915 box has a .82 5th gear and a 3.88 R&P. i think the type3 box has a .89 4th gear and either a 3.88 or 4.12 R&P depending on model year. the benefit of the 5speed is that you have an extra gear between 3rd and 4th to close up that gap and from what ive herd its a major help even in just normal driving since it helps prevent bogging at less than highway speeds(40-50MPH i.e. a little high for 3rd and 4th still bogs a little). the berg 5speed conversion is pretty much the same effect. though ive herd that its an absolute nightmare to do(this is from a mechanic thats done one) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
