Well, I started my day there at 8:30am, directing the show cars where to park until 11:00am. And it rained the whole time :( The drags became officially canceled, then about 30 minutes later the sun came out. Jeez! But the turn out was better than expected for rain. Of course, the swap meet area was full and a-buzz. Of the Type 3 & 4 showing, there were only three T3: A Squareback owned by one of the Eugene club members, my baby, and a clean white Notchback. The Notch received first place and I got second. A couple of very nice, pre-'68 Buses and even more water-pumpers in great condition! I met Heather and her friend and also a couple other non-listee T3 owners. I wore my red T3 sweatshirt (thanks again, John J.) and handed out the site URL so hopefully we'll be seeing them show up. One cool dude just got his Grandmother's '69 (original owner!) and he doesn't have a single problem with it (and it's FI). Not too exciting. The engine blow was our best yet, though. I'm hoping the next couple of shows I attend Tom will be there with his Notch to blow me outta the water :) I'm really looking forward to seeing that baby!
