In a Square you could fit a nut-plate in/through the holes in the side sheet
metal just behind the seat, and mount the retractors to them. I have a pair
of trim panels at home which have a hole in (from the factory) which appears
to be for this purpose. Of course this won't work on a Fasty or Notch as the
parcel shelf gets in the way.

Unless you got a bit "dark" and cut slots for the belt to pass through,
mounting the retractor in the boot (trunk) as on modern cars.

BTW does anybody want a pair of nos side trim panels for a Square in
silver-grey vinyl? (with holes for seat belt retractors?!)
