And a very darksided one at that. > But oh, just imagine. : ) Since the 914/4 (VW engine) and 914/6 share a transaxle (save for the direction of the final drive) with the 911, it should bolt right up. But one of the really neat things about the 4-banger 914 is that the engine parts (by Porsche standards) are dirt cheap. A Porsche piston/cylinder set alone will set you back $2500. And you need about $500 of special tools just to take the engine apart (I was more or less given a '69 911T which I sold after about three months 'cause everything was too expensive). You can get far more bang for your buck using VW stuff, and you don't need to tear the car apart as much. And the 911/914 is probably going to handle better than most any type 3, so one could argue that it makes a better home for the fancy-pants engine. If you can stand the looks, and don't need a back seat, the 914 is a very cool car (I used to have one), with as much trunk space as a T3. -Frank ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
