Unfortunately I found them after I had already drilled the rivets out. If you're putting in new seals check to see if they have the cutaway and if so avoid removing the rivets if possible. If you decide to drill the rivets anyway just make sure you don't enlarge the mounting hole or you'll end up with a loose pivot. I would avoid using pop rivets for this job for the same reason. You can buy NOS VW rivets and fiber washers at Bill and Steve's and other parts suppliers for a low price. Since these rivets are the right diameter and length they allow the window to pivot correctly. The washers are a must--without them the pivot will tend to bind.
