That will probably be very difficult, unless it's in really good shape already and somebody sold it way below its value. If this is the case, just turn it over to somebody else who's going to keep it and enjoy it long-term. Regarding original vs. custom, you can get people to agree a lot sooner about what's cool original condition. As far as what makes for a cool custom... that's completely a matter of taste.
