To see if it works, turn the car off. Remove the distributor cap so that you can get a good look at the points and the plate they ride on. Remove the vacuum advance hose from the intake. Suck on it. The point plate should move when you apply vacuum, it should hold its position if you hold the vacuum, and it should return quite happily to where it started when you let air back in. (Remember, too, that the hose itself could be leaky.) T3 Guru's please enlighten me with your knowledge. Good detective work! Those are cylinders 1 and 3. Everyone -- I always forget how the injector firing is paired on the trigger points.
