worth a thought well on several vw ive had heres what ive done with fuel problems start at the engine first check all your lines you may have a seep somewhere that is lowering your pressure or if it is before a pump the pumps will suck air rather than fuel as its easyier! work your way to the tank take it steady check all vents emmision control stuff this must all be intact the tank must be able to breath easy or it will vaccume and thats not good . fix the overflow! take the sender out of the tank top. with a 3m length of clear waher hose tapped to the end of a wooden rod and a flashlight go into the tank you will see the water and debbris at the bottom suck it up with the tube! dont suck to far or youll fill your mouth mmmmm tasty! squirt crud into empty coffe jar . not for the faint hearted but it will rid you of a lot of stuff in there all dependig how much time you want to spend and at the end of the day at least youve had a look at whats in there if nothing then you can eliminate it from your list of possibilities! return the sender to the tank and away you go give it a good run to clear the lines and fit new filters. be prepared to fit new filters again soon too. fix the overflow!!! another solution to this is to fit an early under bonnet filling type tank !!!!!!! (sorry this is not as simple as it sounds) neil verdon 66 sqr on irs pan best among equals rise to the top. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
