The subject of the gas filler came up a response to my last question about the fenders, which made me think of another question. When I got my 68, I had to pull the gas tank and have it dipped. There was so much crap in it that the plastic around the jets on the fuel injectors was cracked...no in line filters! Anyway, I replaced the hose running from the tank to the filler neck - unfortunately I couldn't find an oval hose that has a round end..68 gas tank..the 69 gas tank I bought has a round hose that connects to the tank, so I had to salvage part of the old hose and piece it together... Anyway...the overflow hose that runs through the fender was completly rotten. I've got a piece of hose that runs through the fender but I'm having problems getting it to securly hook the neck of the filler. Does anyone have any experience with this or ideas? I'm getting tired of smelling gas when I turn. Can you clamp this off without hurting anything? Thanks for all the repsonses to the fender question.!
