Hello everyone, I know you can put at1 eng in a t3 but how much stress in put onto the t1 eng? I need to do this because my t3 eng is all in pieces beacause the car sat so long in nowhere CO for 10-18 years. A friend of mine told me to correctly "free" the engine from its frozen state is to fill the entire crankcase with a really light weight oil and wait about 2 weeks then drain. Take a wrench and turn the crank pulley bolt about a 1/4 turn in each direction. then when you complete a full revolution, put 3 qts of light weight oil in and let sit for another 2-3 days. Then turn eng over with no spark or gas. let it cycle for about 10 full revolutions. Then drain oil and refill again. I know it sound like alot of oil to go through but what ended up happening to me was that the constant position of the eng wore a "dead spot" in all the crank bearings, buckets, and cam. Thus when I crank the puppy over i grinded everything down to almost nothing before any oil got to it. All my mains were shot, I could move the pulley back and forth myself about a full in. Sorry to be so long. Back to my ques. The same good friend of mine has a t1 eng he will lend me until I get my fasty eng rebuilt (to a quick reliable 1776 I might add). I want to put some heat tape on the header I will use to help keep the poor uninsulated thing cooler. Any sugs? Agian sorry this is long but I really don't want to fry my buddy's eng. Thanks everybody --- erick __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo!
