Hello All, I noticed a little discussion about clock problems and thought that i would join in. My clock did not work, but i took it apart and found that a little wire that must have been a fuse was burnt out. So i soldered a new wire on and bamm! The clock worked. But the clock seemed to wind itself about every ten minutes. Is that correct? Seems too often to me. It kept time ok. About ten minutes off every two weeks. But this past week it died again. Same wire burned again. Anyone else dealt with this problem? Second question is about my generator. Seems that my lights dim when my car is idling. Is this normal for aircooled cars? I took a look at my brushes in the generator and they seem a little worn down for the spring that pushes on them is almost out of adjustment. Would this cause my generator to not perform well? Anything else to check out? Third question is i have replaced my front brake calipers with new ATE calipers and replaced all flexible brake lines front and rear, bled the brakes and filled the fluid reserve. But my brakes are still not solid. If i stomp them the car stops but the peddle has a soft spot before the brakes really kick in. It still feels like i have air in the line but i know i bled it all out. Would this be a sign of a worn out master cylinder? I know that it is not leaking and the pedal never goes down to the floor, i just have this sponginess that i can't get rid of ! My ATE brake calipers are of the one bleeder valve kind and i seem to remember someone talking about a special way to get all the air out of them. I may be crazy but i do seem to remember someone talking about that.
