>Look at the Squareback at the end of these pictures. >Tell me this is a Grandma's car NOW! > >http://www.algonet.se/~resskarl/bildhal1.htm Sorry to tellya, but that's a Volvo... >So what type of work is there in Sweden for a lowly >american, that only speaks english! That would pay >enough to go racing/wrecking old cars! Tons of work -- everyone speaks English, some companies are English only, too. I worked there for a couple weeks making $10 an hour (after taxes). Rent is cheap, cars are cheap. Of course, with the dollar at 10.8 SEK, no worries if you have greenbacks -- everything is cheap. I'm sure you could pick up one of the T3s in a folkrace for 5000SEK (~$475). You know why? Every driver is *required* to sell their car after the end of the race to the highest bidder with a max price of 5000:- no matter how much you spent getting the car hot. Or something to that effect with the Folk Race I saw. Volvo engines, N20, turbo, you name it, have all been stuffed into every type of car. The cheaper and more powerful, the better. I saw a '63 Notch stuffed full of some giant engine and stripped of everything but the dash pad (uncracked!) and red needle speedo. It got knocked off the track and hit a jump. Caught 15' of air, landed nose first -- ouch! They came back to race a little while later.... after they brought out the BFH for some body work. But if you are going to do it, wear a helmet!
