Subject: [T3] '69 Square Clean-Up > Hey! > > Just starting to clean up the interior of the new baby -- quite a chore ahead > of us! Any hints on how to get the seats out without damaging anything and > once cleaned up, what's the best lubricant for the rails? Thanks! > > Slide the seat all the way forward until it comes up against its stop. This stop is a spring clip on the inner rail at the front. Reach down with a screwdriver and depress this spring while pushing the seat forward. The seat will now come completely off the tracks. Becareful, the seat slides on plastic runneres on the frame mounted tracks. These runners can be hard to find, and they are sometimes expensive. Like the last ones I saw listed were something like $40 a pair. To lub the tracks when you put it back together, I usually use a light coating of vasoline. You don't want too much, as it collects dirt. Russ Wolfe russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
