Hello everyone! Im still off-list and will be for some time, but the Exaust finally came back for the Notch and I was able to install it despite the fact that I should really have been doing something else that evening. I was able to drive it for the first time since April and tackling that oil leak. THE OIL LEAK IS STILL THERE!!!!.... process of elimination and observation have narrowed it down to the fact that the oil is leaking out the rear of the crank, a small puddle everytime I stop the car. The only thing I noticed when I had the fan assy off is that the slinger washer (which IS installed properly) has quite alot of up an down play on the crank, (about 1/8"). Its the one Berg supplied with the kit but seems kinda loose... The only other thing I could think of is the breather... its off a 70's era car with the PCV valve in it and the tube that goes down to the oil filler inlet. The inlet Im using doesnt have a fitting on it so the tube just drains down below the engine to the atmosphere. The baffle in the breather is installed correctly and the valve seems to operate but??... Any thoughts anyone?? this oil leak has me really peeved.... Otherwise its running well, I had one spark plug resistor fall off (cheap aftermarket crap) but its ready for me to find time to try everyones tuning hints that Ive printed out since last year Please reply to me (parkkj@crd.ge.com) as well as im off list.
