Thanks to Leon Martinez for a very informative and well written e-mail about my "Bogged Down" Squareback. When I say loaded run I mean on the Hwy, up hills, high speed, 3 adults in the car, in Arizona. Where do I get a head temp gage for the Type3 and where does it mount? I have no problem at idle when under normal driving conditions, just a very low idle after my "loaded Run" condition. I did as you suggested and disconnected the air temp sensor at idle and the RPM dropped a bit. I did this on a Cold-Cool engine, outdoor temp about 60. Should I try this test on a Normal temp engine to Hot? Tell me more about the washer - metal? does this washer go on just like any other, would it not still conduct the heat? Sounds interesting. Tell me about the fuel ratio meter and fuel ratio adjustment on your dash. Some History on my system - I had a hesitation problem with the car before and after my engine rebuild. When I would accelerate cool or Hot (more when hot) from a standing start it would hesitate, and even stall. I went through all kinds of things from valve adj., timing, voltage regulator. . . the works. The only thing I could do was to make the overall mixture richer by tweeking the pressure sensor. That solved the problem. Could I be in need of further adjustment? I did not want to push my luck and screw up the sensor by over doing it. I did not nor do I have an oxygen sensor to place in the tailpipe to really do it right. (how much and where can I get such a sensor/gauge?) So what do you think, and what would you recommend I do next? Thanks So Much, Chris ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
