It is more likely that you moved a bad connection when you were working in there. Above all, be careful with all the wires and connections. All things considered, the Bentley manual really is your best option. You should buy a cheap VOM at Radio Shack and start learning how to measure voltage and resistance. At night read a little of the Bentley at a time. Just a little so you understand that much. Then ask questions, look at your car and compare with what you've just learned. Try the VOM on something there and see if it works out the way you expected. Ask questions. Measure something else. Take something apart. Measure it.
