Yes, generally true... though, at midwest swap meets, I've seen unused, stock Type III mufflers go from $13 - $50. Of course, if you need one "today," you'll probably have to pay much more; you can call Rocky Mountain and pay and arm & a leg... A typical "on the street" price is often around a hundred bucks, sometimes with tail pipe, sometimes without -- and usually without the minor heat exchangers...
