You MUST be sure that they are BOTH there and didn't drop down in the case. I suggest that to get them out you stick a stiff brass wire down their center and thru the pilot bearing in the case, then slide them up with a magnet while leaving the wire in place. Use brass or copper wire so the magnet won't stick to it, and use the wire so that when the washers stick and fall down they can't fall out of place. Once you are sure that you have both washers, stick the wire back in first, thru the pilot bearing at the bottom again, and then slide the washers down around it.
