Actually one of the previous owners of my Fastback did this exact thing. I guess the key switch quit working for the start position, so they wired in a push button. Rather annoying if you ask me. I have to turn the key to the "ON" position, then push the button. Although I'm not sure how they wired it in. I haven't ventured that far yet. Are new switches available for 67's? Just in case I need to replace mine. The PO also wired in a external starter relay, ala what's used on american cars. I don't know what this guy was thinking! Has anyone installed a pushbutton for starting. Where did you 'cut' into the wireing? How heavy a gage needed back to the pushbutton? (Still plan to use my ket for on & off.) thanks - tom > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org >
