Hey, all: I took the advice of the group at large, and started to remove my distributor driveshaft, so I could reposition it to solve my problem. I took off the fuel pump and its flange, removed the distributor, but cannot for the life of me get the damned driveshaft up out of the hole. Even with an excellent grip on it, it gets hung up after raising only about 1/4-1/2 inch. I can wiggle it up and down in the hole, but it will not come out any farther. The Haynes manual says to put the engine in the #1 firing position to do this operation on earlier models, but my Square is a '67 DP, so it shouldn't matter...and at any rate, that's where I first had the engine positioned when I tried it. Any ideas why the dadgum driveshaft won't come out?
