To clear out the grille fwd of the windscreen you have to remove the plenum chamber (fan housing). This can be a PITA as you have to strip virtually everything out of the dash first before you can drop it out (4 nuts at top mating face). Don't try it with a hangover; all the standing on your head is very unpleasant...... Once you've got the airbox out, you have some access to the area below the grille. Of course, the lazy git's way of clearing the leaves etc. out is with a pressure washer, but this may show up leaks you didn't know you had! The airbox removal idea is for late ('70-on) models. I can't remember what the early one was like. The drain tube has a 90 degree bend in it after the bulkhead. that's why you can't poke wire far down it. Try compressed air or poking from the other end..... ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
