I don't think the pressure SWITCH (RHS of the engine) could cause your kind of problem, but the pressure SENSOR (LHS of the engine) is a possibility. I have heard of problems with the PS that were electrical (shorted turns, broken wires, etc) rather than mechanical (cracked diaphram or bellows), but I've not seen one.
