Re: Axle nut removal

Torque = force (perpendicular) x distance from rotation

If the wrench is positioned horizontally,

Torque(ft-lbs) = your weight (lbs) x distance out along the wrench

or,

distance out along the wrench = Torque / your weight

If you want inches, multiply by 12. Put your foot at that spot and stand
on the wrench. No jumping -- just stand.

For removal, I've had good luck with those little cast iron plates
that have the hex punchout for the nut and a square hole for the breaker
bar. Put force on the breaker bar, hit the plate with a hammer.
