Dilemmas. For raw reliable power transplanting a non-stock-based engine has it's merits. Building a powerful stock-based engine is exciting as well. Costs are probably equal for the most part in the end. Personally, the WRX is VERY appealing but it's not quite as special as a built stock-based engine. Kinda understand? I'd rather have people open the deck lid or peek under the car and see a stock-based engine -- seems more natural :) And when they see it motivate the vehicle better than stock it gives a greater appreciation and understanding that more can be done to a stock car than one would think. If the engine can also be made to last, well, need we say more? :) That's kinda my reasoning for my engines and why I would eventually like to go to an after-market FI and turbo.
