On my old '70 the dash was deeply cracked due to shrinkage. The crack was
probably 1 to 2 cm wide and went all the way through. The car lived outside
in the Gulf Coast sun. I don't think there could have been any spray,
cream, oil or anything else to save that dash. The heat killed it. Once
the inside foam began to get brittle and shrink, .....

My current '69 has lived it's whole life in northern California where it's
not so hot. And the dash is not cracked. I think the dashes can last, but
only if the sun stays off them. Isn't the dash on Dave O's '62 uncracked?
(A very strange dash, by the way. Wraps all the way around to the back of
the car).
