i used Gene's bus full flow pump cover. the oulet clears the crossmember! so no need of clearance of the fan shroud. The hardest part of this mod is the plumming. Go for the AN fittings. They cost a lot more but its worth it. i've tried to use pipe fittings but finding teh right ones ate the local hardware store is a big hassle not to mention if they do have something that will work, they most likey need some clearancing. you just have to decide where and how you wanna mount your filter adpater.
