I'm sorry, the electronic parts catalogue does not mention the M296, nor any
other M-number for the sheet metal version. The closest option is M297 which
is "Sealed beam headlights and taillights with red turn signals, but without
high beam flasher" for USA.

And the full length panels were available here in Norway too, as we have
mostly the same van versions as Denmark. I saw one 72 or 73 Variant that was
a van, albeit with windows. It had the full length panels, they were made up
of grey cardboard if I remember correctly. The car was orange with black
seats (as Toby Erkson's). I saw it in Kristiansand, Norway in 1995. The next
time I'm in Kristiansand (an hour's drive) I'm gonna drive up to the
residential area where it used to be parked, to see if it's still there.
