The story of the notchback convertible sounds exactly the same as that of
the Type 34 convertible, which was also scrapped apparently because the
modifications needed to give it structural integrity would have made the
price too high.

Makes you wonder though, if they had produced both the Notchback and Type 34
convertibles in sufficient volume, maybe it would have made production
cost-effective.
