<x-charset iso-8859-1>Ralph=> Somebody once told me that an 009 was => retarded a bit on the left bank to => keep those cylinders cooler under the oil cooler. => Fact or just hype? You can check for yourself -- the #3 lug in the cap would have to be offset. It's not. Dwell would also be different for that cylinder. I got no idea how people come up with ideas like this. => Cheap was my goal I know how that can happen, but trust me, good timing is worth a lot over the long run compared to the results of marginal timing. The distributor is the beating heart of your engine, it's worth a little more attention and/or money. I've seen 010 distributors selling regularly on Ebay in the $50-75 range. I got one for $30 at a swap meet, another for $35 on Ebay. I run a 1641 dual-port with performance mods, and the 010 is giving me perfect combustion at high altitude, excellent power across the range and 30mpg. I love it.
