Talc is certainly innoculous enough, but I'm not sure that it will 
keep ice from sticking to the rubber. The silicone doesn't hurt 
anything, and it lubricates the gasket/door jamb interface really 
well.

On the down side, silicone interferes with painting and it is much 
more expensive than talc.
