Well, here's the first contradiction.....earlier I received a message saying that the Type 34 didn't handle as well as a normal type 3..... Anyway about it, I'm sure it would handle better than a Type 1. Don't get me wrong, I love the Bug, but they're a bit sluggish on the road. In what respect does the Type 34 not handle as well as a normal Type 3? Maybe in the area of the tie-rod ends? Those are among the most difficult parts to come by for a Type 34. Otherwise, I'd say that the Type 34 was the top of the line. If you are planning to dog it all of the time, maybe the Type 34 is not the car for you. But for normal driving, the Type 34 will easily hit 70-75 Mph and hold it. That's more than most VW's will do. I don't know what the top speed is, but I'd guess it's about 100 Mph. Mine is such a pleasure to drive. It has air conditioning, electric windows and door locks, and a modern, leather-covered steering wheel. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
