I don't know how that might be true, but it's possible. Most people don't realize that the type 1 Karmann Ghia actually weighs MORE than a Beetle. This is because the seams on the Ghia were actually leaded at the factory, rather than joined by the more common vinyl beading. Can someone tell me how the weight of a T34 compares to that of a notch, for example?
